What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Field Sheetmetal Mechanic position at The Sack Company?
Job Responsibilities
Install ductwork and set HVAC equipment (rooftop units, condensing units, fan coil units, VAV’s, air handling units) for commercial HVAC systems based on design drawings
Install TDC/TDF, slip and drive, ductmate, spiral duct, snaplock, and flex duct
Experience installing sheetmetal duct systems for hospitals, hotels, schools (K-12 and post-secondary), and government a plus
Capable of utilizing basic construction tools such as an impact drill, tape measurer, tinner’s hammer, sheet metal snips, flat head screwdriver, channel locks, etc.
Capable of reading, understanding, and scaling off construction prints for equipment and ductwork installation
Knowledge and skill of ACR piping systems, refrigerant evacuation process & proper testing of system for start-up (Split Systems, VRF, and Packaged DX Systems). This is a plus but not required.
4 years vocational preparation a plus but not required
A willingness to learn
Flexibility to work extended hours or flexible hours as the projects require.
Flexibility for out-of-town projects (Out of Town expenses paid for by Sack)
Willingness to travel
Preferred OSHA 10
Familiar with OSHA and Company Safety protocols
Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs consistently
