The SAFE Foundation is a nonprofit addiction treatment and prevention organization. We operate State-licensed outpatient drug, alcohol and gambling treatment programs in Brooklyn, New York and Eatontown, New Jersey alongside preventive services and educational programming. Safe’s client-centered and holistic approach includes an emphasis on family involvement.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Clinical Director will be responsible for the direction, provision, development and oversight of outpatient treatment services focusing on individuals struggling with substance use and problem gambling, as well as affected family members.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Providing oversight of all clinical and administrative aspects of the operation

·       Maintaining a caseload of clients

·       Ensuring the development, implementation, and enforcement of all policies and procedures

·       Ensuring that approaches to treatment are evidence based or evidence-informed

·       Providing supervision to one part-time clinician and one part-time administrative employee

·       Performing outreach and networking to ensure the clinic is maximally utilized

·       Ensuring that counseling services are provided as specified in the client treatment plan, and coordinated with other client care services, if applicable, to provide comprehensive continuity of care

·       Coordinating with and reporting to New Jersey government regarding audits, grants and other matters related to licensure

·       Coordinating with other Safe leaders to ensure maximal insurance reimbursement for services provided

·       Leading staff education and training activities

·       Ensuring that all counseling staff are properly licensed or credentialed in accordance with state requirements and are supervised by the appropriately credentialed staff

·       Participating in the identification of quality care indicators and outcome objectives and the collection and review of data to monitor staff and program performance

·       Collaborate with Safe addiction services practitioners and other colleagues on a variety of projects

·       Develop and execute strategies and offerings that grow and enhance the clinic


QUALIFICATIONS

 

Degree/Certification- must meet one of the following criteria:


·       New Jersey licensed psychologist who possesses a Certification of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders from the American Psychological Association, College of Professional Psychology, or is an LCADC

·       A New Jersey licensed clinical social worker, who is a certified clinical supervisor by The Certification Board, or is an LCADC

·       A New Jersey licensed professional counselor, or licensed marriage and family therapist, who is a certified clinical supervisor by The Certification Board, or who is an LCADC

·       A New Jersey licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor who, in addition, holds a Master’s degree recognized by the New Jersey Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners, Alcohol and Drug Counselor Committee, Division of Consumer Affairs, New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety as meeting the educational requirements set forth in N.J.A.C. 13:34C-2.2(b)1

 

In addition, candidates should offer the following skills, experience and personal qualities:


·       Three to five years of administrative or supervisory experience in a substance use treatment facility

·       Strong clinical skills and familiarity with Addiction Counseling Competencies (TAP 21, SAMHSA) and 12-Step model

·       Demonstrable organizational, program development, and administrative skills.

·       Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues inside and outside the agency to achieve goals

·       Integrity, candor, initiative, relatability, creativity

 

COMPENSATION


·       $80,000- $95,000 Salary Range
