Wage: $18.81 an hour non-exempt
Position Summary:
The Student Services Assistant provides general information and services to students and the general public relating to College inquiries and requests for information. Supports staff and students and staff in secondary and post-secondary programs. Provides general information about admissions, advising, registration, assessment, programs, and testing to students, staff, and community members. Enters, tracks, analyzes, and reports data critical to grant funding. Administers, assists, and proctors student assessment tests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the first point of contact to students, liaison, and the general public.
- Maintains multiple databases, creates spreadsheets, and keeps records
- Registers students for testing, verifies student eligibility; may provide translation in multiple languages to students as needed
- Prepares student records and associated correspondence.
- Provides data entry and retrieves information from databases; verifies the completeness and accuracy of the submitted information
- Interprets information and makes evaluative determinations and recommendations regarding services, programs, and procedures for students, College employees, and the public based on established guidelines
- Performs data entry, tracking, analysis and reporting critical to grant funding program
- Administers, assists, and proctors student assessment tests
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:
- Contact is tribal college administration, faculty, and staff to ensure a quality and effective program
- Considerable contact is with college students to provide academic-related services
- Some external contact with associates of the college is required
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) to three (3) years of related experience with GED testing and technology preferred
- Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
- Tribal preference and Native American preference shall apply to all positions

Physical Demands:
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment.
- Required to sit for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally walk and stand and reach with arms and hands.
- Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Normal office environment.
- Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
Education
