We are currently hiring a Merchandise Sales Consultant in Oak Grove, AL.
*The candidate will be primarily based out of Oak Grove but will also need to be available to travel to Clay County locations.
What will you do as a Merchandise Sales Consultant?
Sales & Customer Assistance:
- Sell major appliances, electronics, furniture, and home goods, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Provide knowledgeable assistance and guidance to customers on product features, benefits, and financing options.
- Sell product protection plans and promote other value-added services to customers.
Merchandising & Inventory Control:
- Maintain creative and attractive display areas on the sales floor to maximize product visibility and sales potential.
- Ensure accurate inventory management, including stocking and inventory tracking.
- Arrange for timely delivery to customers.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of appliances and products as needed.
Sales Documentation & Financing:
- Complete all sales-related paperwork, including financing documents, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Process transactions, including financing options, ensuring customers’ needs are met.
Sales Events & Promotions:
- Coordinate and execute special sales events, ensuring products are well-merchandised and promotions are effectively communicated to customers.
- Create and implement innovative sales initiatives to attract additional customers and increase store traffic.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with all store employees, including those in other departments, to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with team members to meet sales goals and maintain store operations.
Who qualifies for the Merchandise Sales Consultant position?
- Proven success in a sales environment, preferably in retail or home appliances.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and build rapport with customers.
- Creative in merchandising products and executing sales strategies.
- Ability to develop new initiatives to attract customers and boost sales.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to ensure customer satisfaction and store success.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems, including MS Wors, Excel, Outlook and CSS (preferred)
- Background and drug screening required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move appliances and products as necessary.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced retail environment.
What hours will the Merchandise Sales Consultant work?
- Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM
- Full time, 40 hours/week
- Contract role, 3 years, subject to change
- Must be available to travel to multiple locations around Oak Grove and Clay County in personal vehicle
How much will you earn as a Merchandise Sales Consultant?
- Starting pay is $21/hour, opportunity to earn spiffs (sales performance incentives)
