What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School/Upper School Math Teacher position at The Salisbury School?
The Salisbury School, a small, independent, college preparatory school on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, is seeking a Middle and/or Upper School Math teacher. The best candidate should have experience teaching Math and a passion for working with middle school children. Responsibilities in the classroom include:
Creating a syllabus for each class
Preparing stimulating lessons
Identifying and analyzing student needs, strengths, and weaknesses
Overseeing experiments
Grading and returning work to students in a timely manner
Providing additional support to students as needed
Maintaining a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning at all times
Treating each student with respect and working to support individual student needs
The appropriate candidate should enjoy working as part of a team, be flexible, possess both patience and motivation, care deeply about the education of students, and be an excellent communicator with parents, other teachers, and students.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Serving as an advisor to students
Teaching a variety of Math courses
Planning experiential outings
Attending school meetings and certain school functions
Attending workshops and training opportunities to continue professional growth
