Requirements
Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Oversee most aspects of the salon location, running the business with “owner” thinking, particularly related to product and supply usage and inventory to ensure that expenses remain within benchmark. Ensure service bookings and service and retail sales per guests are maximized with impeccable service quality for revenues.
- Will have approximately 14 Direct Reports initially but with growth it is expected to be closer to 30. (We currently have 65 employees overall inclusive of our 5 locations).
- Lead as a coach and mentor versus a boss.
- Instills Aveda’s Purpose and Beliefs into the company by becoming the best representation of Aveda in the marketplace.
- This Salon Manager will spend most of their time on “the floor” with the team and the salon guests, not in a back office.
- Maintains professional, luxury, calm demeanor while creating a warm, fun, friendly, and hospitable atmosphere.
- Ensures that all team members are bringing the vision, mission, and guiding principles to life daily.
- Ensures excellent luxury guest service that meets or exceeds expectations, every guest, every time.
- Ensures that the salon is adequately staffed to meet our guest needs.
- Controlling day-to-day operations in designated location. This may at times include multiple locations.
- Collaborate with a passionate, talented leadership team.
- Works closely with GM of multiple locations and helps ensure the front desk is not overstaffed and within benchmark. This manager will be required to work the front desk at times. We all do windows.
- Touch and Care Mindset – this is our service industry and hand massages are part of our daily service.
- Operating the business in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws.
- Will directly impact employee training; planning; performance reviews; coaching and mentoring employees; holding other team members accountable to the team standards; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Oversight and management include daily decision-making, staff support, service quality and cleanliness.
- Ensure that team members understand their goals; coach them to achieve their goals and celebrate them when they reach or exceed their goals.
- Enforcing safe and clean work behaviors to maintain a safe environment for both guests and employees.
- Social Media Marketing – ensuring that required images, videos, and other requests are provided promptly.
- Travel may be required if multiple locations assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience as a salon manager or operations manager in a salon, hospitality, or retail environment a plus.
- Exceptional leadership abilities to motivate and influence others through action.
- Results oriented leader with proven ability to exceed revenue goals.
- Strong organization and prioritization skills with an ability to multitask.
- Ability to react under pressure, use good judgement, and be flexible and adaptable.
- Excellent customer service and verbal/written communication skills.
- Due to our commitment to the environment, a strong alignment to the Aveda mission is essential.
- Record of maintaining high standards in establishment cleanliness, sanitation, and guest satisfaction.
