What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant - Major Gifts position at The Salvation Army Central Territory?
Position Summary: The Major Gifts Administrative Assistant will provide high-level support to the Major Gifts department, by handling administrative support, research and resource acquisition. This position works closely with all Major Gifts officers.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Accurately produce and maintain tracking on the Marketing Impact Chart timely reports that reflect caseload performance. This will include assuring the integrity of donor financial data and analysis of donor giving.
- Handle correspondence coming in and out of the major gifts department in a professional manner
- Keep records of secure, appropriate project information, including budgets, offers, proposals and asks that will be used for donor calls by the Major Gifts Officers, including donor research
- Perform support functions that may include creating monthly reports, accurately reflecting department activity and performance
- Handle timely gift receipts for donors
- Create and maintain individual donor files and secure internal and external resources for donor communication
- Track donor information based on their giving and potential
- Assist Major Gifts Officers by editing and sending effective offers, proposals and ask correspondence to donors
- Ability to track people, process, deadlines and organize the department while adhering to the policies and procedures of the organizations
- Collaborate with planned giving and development administrative assistants regarding donor case loads
- Work independently with local Salvation Army officers, advisory boards and committees to schedule meetings and handle situations that pertain to major gifts reporting
- Support the Major Gifts Officers with the approved major giving performance metrics established by the Veritus Group, Territorial Executive Director of Development and Divisional Executive Director of Development
- Handle expense reports and monitor the major gifts budget
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- At least 3 years of administrative experience

- Ability to follow through with little direct supervision
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
- Willingness to learn new software as needed
- Proficient in database management software
Certificates and Licenses:
- Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
