What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Services Worker position at The Salvation Army Central Territory?
About the role:
- Cleans the offices, meeting rooms, hallways, restrooms, common areas, and Community Center on a daily basis according to established procedures. This includes sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, cleaning toilets and urinals, keeping restrooms supplied with essential toiletries; removing trash and garbage; cleaning windows and glass doors; dusting furniture, vacuuming vents, etc.
- Monitors cleaning supplies, notifying supervisor of low inventories.
- Launders cleaning towels and keeps laundry room clean and in order.
- Strips, waxes, and buffs tile floors as directed; spot clean and shampoos carpets as needed.
- Keeps grounds and parking lot clean from broken glass, trash, etc. Removes trash from outdoor garbage containers.
- Assists in the care, maintenance, and repair of the assets of The Salvation Army.
- Identifies and reports to supervisor any maintenance needs of the facility, such as replacement of fluorescent lights, ballasts, light bulbs, repairs, leaks, etc. Assists in the set-up, tear-down, and change-over for events including, tables, chairs, staging, barricades, pipe and drape, signage, and all other related equipment.
- Vacuum corners, dust mop and mop gym as needed.
- Follows and complies with all safety work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: 6 to 12 months related work experience
Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with clearance to drive from TSA insurance.
