What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Services Manager (STC County) position at The Salvation Army Central Territory?
The Salvation Army St. Charles/ O'Fallon Corps is looking for a Food Services Manager. This individual will ensure the efficient operation of the Food Services department at both locations. Provide supervision and guidance to kitchen employees/volunteers.
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, $45,000 per year.

Essential Functions
- Supervise food preparation and ensure that clients are satisfied.
- Prepare meals when staff or volunteers are absent.
- Work schedule would be 80% of time at O'Fallon Booth Shelter and 20% at STC Feeding site.
- Ensure all food items and products are stored, prepared, and served according to prescribed standards and all applicable rules and regulations.
- Provide supervision and guidance to kitchen employees/volunteers.
- Overseeing the training of employees/volunteers to ensure the safe operation of kitchen equipment and utensils and the proper handling of heavy items and hazardous materials.
- Develop menus according to prescribed frequency and duration.
- Order kitchen materials and ingredients based on the menu and availability.
- Maintain clean working environments according to all applicable rules and regulations.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels and conduct weekly inventories.
- Ensure department operates within budget.
- Produce and submit monthly expense reports.
- Complete monthly stats report (TSA, Food Bank) for all feeding programs.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum three years' experience in a similar position.
- Purchasing, inventory management & food cost control.
- Culinary, operational, and management.
- Managing a diverse kitchen staff in a restaurant.
- Purchasing, inventory management & food cost control experience.
- Online purchasing systems, excel and database management.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Certified Food Handler certification (within 90 days of employment)
- ServeSafe Certification (within 90 days of employment)
Supervisory Responsibility
Supervision of Food Service staff/volunteers.

Basic Plus
Bloodborne Pathogen Level
