The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters located in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for a Grant and Contract Accountant. This individual will prepare billings for reimbursements for all funding sources directly related to assigned Units' programs. Monitors spend down of all funding sources for assigned Units. Provide support and assistance to the administrators of assigned Units on an as-needed basis. Meet all contractual accounting reporting requirements for assigned Units.
This is a full-time exempt position 40 hours per week, with the pay ranging from $53,000 to $68,000 annually.

Essential Functions
- Establish, maintain, and revise proper documentation for all assigned government and contract grants.
- Coordinate with internal/external auditors for review of grant documentation.
- Prepare and submit billings for reimbursement from governmental and other contractual agencies/funding sources, for assigned Units.
- Prepare timely external reports for funders on a monthly, quarterly, annual basis as required by funders.
- Responsible for the portion of the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) pertaining to the assigned units in the scope of the external audit.
- Prepare monthly accruals for assigned Units' grant activity.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting/related field plus two (2) years accounting/related field work experience. Combination of education and work experience will be considered. Required computer knowledge includes experience with spreadsheets, word processing and network-based accounting software. Must be a team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with the minimum supervision. Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Position requires valid drivers' licenses, pass TSA MVR check and reliable transportation to visit assigned sites.
Physical and Working Conditions
Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
