Job Objective : This position provides supervision of program monitors, ensuring residential program shift coverage and program compliance. Essential Functions : Direct Supervision of Program Monitors Supervise and schedule monitor staff to ensure coverage of residential programs Prepare and post program monitors' schedules Provide evening, weekend, and holiday on-call shift coverage when needed Ensure overtime approval prior to scheduling Provide individual and group supervision to program monitors and document accordingly Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings for all staff as directed and document accordingly Observe staff, interact with participants, conduct security rounds Monitor documentation of medication administration Monitor and document participant well-being, condition and observable behavior on shifts Monitor and document participant medication self-administration according to established protocol Engage with participants in a therapeutic manner and provide supportive assurance as needed Assist with documentation of intake / admission screening per program procedures as assigned Assist with new program participant orientation, room assignment, and security check of belongings for all new admissions Monitor and document participant activities and provide life skills groups as assigned Document and direct incoming referral calls Ensure participant confidentiality in accordance with established procedures and regulations Maintain supply of participant file forms and construct documentation packets as needed Provide other participant file documentation as needed or assigned and in accordance with established protocols Enter participant data or program information into computer or worksheet as required per program procedure Assist with participant urine screening and breathalyzer tests as needed Assist with the provision of participant basic needs according to program guidelines Assist with meal service, laundry, and housekeeping tasks as needed Follow directives given by Residential Services Coordinator or other professional staff pertaining to participant care and treatment Monitor participants' whereabouts and building security by conducting regularly scheduled rounds of participant areas and entire building Provide crisis intervention as needed, alert on-call staff according to protocol; document all incidents and outcomes Provide coaching and role modeling for program monitors in performance of job duties and interaction with participants Provide participant-centered care; maintain confidentiality, dignity, and protect rights of participants at all times Ensure adequate orientation and training of all program monitors; identify and schedule training for program monitors annually Ensure all program monitors attend and complete required or assigned training including, but not limited to, Safe From Harm, CPR, and First Aid within first 90-days of employment Review and approve payroll information for program monitors Review program monitor vacation and extended leave requests with supervisor Supervision of Program Operation Document needed supplies, equipment or repairs and submit to supervisor Bring hazard or safety concerns to the attention of the supervisor Review all incident reports completed by program monitors and provide follow-up information to the supervisor Provide program reports as directed Record, review and summarize shift reports for the supervisor Assign or conduct weekly participant orientation in individual and / or group settings Attend resident house meetings Serve on the Quality Improvement Planning Committee Attend program team meetings with other managers Complete certification as a Safe From Harm trainer Minimum Qualifications : Education : High School diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred Experience : Supervision in a residential setting; recovery, homeless, or social service settings preferred Certifications / Licenses : Safe From Harm Trainer, CPR, First Aid (obtained within in 90-days of employment) Skills / Abilities : Support The Salvation Army mission Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in crisis situations Ability to have positive affect through communications with a diverse population Ability to perform job duties effectively Competent in use of computer and possess the ability to learn related software as required Audio and visual acuity needed for the supervision of clients and security system Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information, including HIPPA requirements Exemplify professional attitude and conduct Familiarity with the Twelve Step Programs helpful Some knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment is a plus Assist with client transportation as needed Supervisory Responsibility : Supervises Program MonitorsPhysical Requirements : Include speaking, hearing and vision ability; walking, sitting and standing for extended periods of time; manual dexterity; lifting, pulling and pushing of materials up to 50 pounds.
