Position SummaryThe Salvation Army Northern Division Willmar Social Services Coordinator provides direct assistance to program participants. Willmar Corps521 SW 4th St, Willmar, MN 56201Wage : $17.64 - $19.50 / hourEssential Functions (approximate time spent) Provide participants with direct assistance (e.g., foodshelf, Heatshare, vouchers) (60%).Maintain up-to-date, accurate participant information in casefiles and through database entry (15%). Facilitate individual and group educational activities (10%). Assist with seasonal and special events (5%). Recruit qualifying participants for Pathway of Hope and promote social services and corps programs with participants and throughout the community (5%). Engage in internal activities to promote and further The Salvation Army goals and objectives (5%).Education and ExperienceAssociate's degree in relevant field preferred. In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered. If degree is in social work, must be licensed by state board. Previous social services experience required.Must pass background checks.Valid driver's license and meet MVR requirements preferred.CompetenciesFlexible interpersonal and communication skills.High level of honor in dealing with confidential information. Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment.Working ConditionsMostly sedentary work, sitting for long periods of time and working on a computer. Professional environment; eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. Must be able communicate clearly in English.Standard business hours with infrequent evenings and weekends.Must be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone. Travel RequirementsMay occasionally drive agency vehicle locally to support the mission if MVR check cleared. May be required to use public transportation to support the mission if unable to drive on behalf of The Salvation Army.
