Job Description:
As the program assistant you will assist with programming of the Logansport Salvation Army. This position will assist with the pantry, youth activities, feeding program, Pathway of Hope activities and any new programs developed.
What You Will Do:
Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
Experience: No experience needed.
Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training.

Job Description:
As the program assistant you will assist with programming of the Logansport Salvation Army. This position will assist with the pantry, youth activities, feeding program, Pathway of Hope activities and any new programs developed.
What You Will Do:
- Accept deliveries
- Work with the caseworker to accept assistance applications and submit them for review
- Oversee as directed the documenting of food pantry participants
- Assist the front desk receptionist as needed
- Light maintenance in building as needed
- Pack food boxes when needed
- Sort food in the food pantry
- Restock USDA cart and freezer
- Assist with POH monthly activities
- Oversee as directed weekend rentals
- Assist with clean-up after activities
- Assist with transportation of youth to camp during summer
- Other tasks as assigned by leadership

Skills/Abilities:
- Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
- Meet all health and safety regulations as defined by the Health Department as well as The Salvation Army
Physical Requirements Include:
- Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
- Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds
- May require bending, squatting, walking.
- May require standing for extended
