Job Description:
As the receptionist, you will operate the main switchboard by answering and properly routing calls and will professionally greet all visitors arriving at Divisional Headquarters ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
Experience: One year of office and/or receptionist experience
Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.

Job Description:
As the receptionist, you will operate the main switchboard by answering and properly routing calls and will professionally greet all visitors arriving at Divisional Headquarters ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.
- What You Will Do:
- Answer and properly route all calls coming into main switchboard
- Greet visitors with a positive, helpful attitude
- Help maintain workplace security by maintaining visitor logs
- Assist visitors in finding their way to their meeting room
- Operate office machines in the mail room for daily use and special projects
- Assist supervisor with a variety of administrative tasks for various departments at DHQ including copying, faxing, transcribing notes, and coordinating staff travel plans and package delivery
- Process and distribute incoming mail and packages
- Take outgoing mail to nearby Post Office or mailbox
- Run postage machine, providing postage for outgoing mail. Prepare outgoing mail for delivery to Post Office
- Maintain the cleanliness of the lobby, receptionist area and mail room
- Keep supplies stocked and organized, and submit orders to supervisor when needed for Workrooms A and C
- Other tasks as assigned by leadership

- Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
- Ability to multi-task, possess good organizational skills and reliable attendance
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with great attention to detail
- Knowledge of basic office procedures and office machines
- Acceptance of The Salvation Army Mission and strict adherence to The Salvation Army policy and procedures

- Ability to stand for short periods of time while running the postage machine and processing mail
