What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at The Salvation Army - Northern New England Division?
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
This position will provide administrative support to the officers, staff and volunteers of The Salvation Army Rockland Corps.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet all visitors in a friendly and courteous manner and ensure they are referred to the correct staff member or partner agency.
- Organize and maintain financial records including but not limited to monthly financial reports, accounts payable and receivable, and petty cash forms.
- Coordinate with store managers on payroll, income reporting and deposit policy and procedures.
- Manage donations according to established policies; generate donor acknowledgements and ensure proper recording and processing.
- Prepare weekly deposit and expense summaries and submit to appropriate divisional staff and departments.
- Collect and report all program statistics monthly in accordance with divisional guidelines.
- Collaborate with social service department to properly record expenditures and in-kind goods.
- Maintain seasonal social service database for community assistance intake and distribution.
- Complete all Seasonal database reports in collaboration with Corps Officers and Kettle Coordinator.
- Assist Corps administration in the onboarding process for employees and volunteers, ensuring compliance with appropriate training and record retention.
- Assist Corps administration with all aspects of public relations, fundraising, and donation management.
- Other duties as assigned by Corps
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Complete required KeepSAfe abuse risk management training
- Excellent communications skills
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Adhere to policy and procedures of The Salvation Army
- Ability to maintain the highest standard of professionalism.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must have a Driver's License
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 28 per week
