STATUS: PART TIME -25 HOURS
SALARY: $19.00 per hour
SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Receptionist is the first face of The Salvation Army to all individuals who enter the building. They are responsible for creating a welcoming environment, maintaining the front desk and assisting in many aspects of program and day to day operation. These various tasks support the overall mission and activities of The Salvation Army. This person works closely with the Coordinator.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High school or GED
- Experience in the following fields: secretarial, customer service, office administration, and data entry

- Strong work ethic with ability to model and maintain excellent time management skills and schedule adherence

- In accordance with TSA Substance Abuse Policy and Drug Free Workplace policy-non-use of any substance, including alcohol or any drug which might affect health, safety or well-being of a client, the public, other workers or self while on the job or on Salvation Army premises.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer and/or respond to phone calls received to the office and either assist them, or direct them to the proper person
- Greet clients and all who come in the building
- Assist the coordinator in the preparation of client files, making copies of all necessary identification and information regarding client circumstances.
- Maintain current and accurate computer files and statistical data
- Assist with AP/AR requirements as requested and needed
- Assist with proper recording, disbursing and reporting of in-kind donations.
- Support Coordinator with day to day operations, volunteer coordination and special projects.
- Assist in supporting the center when the coordinator is away at meetings, vacations, sick, etc.
- All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit, move, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass an MVR screening check.

Parental Leave: Benefit will be one week (5 business days) of paid leave at the employee’s normal rate of pay for births, adoptions and foster placements.
Sick Leave: 12 days annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after 3 months’ service time.
Paid Vacation: 2 weeks annually accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions. 4 weeks annually accruing from day one, for exempt positions. Accrued vacation is eligible for use after 6 months’ service time.
Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays 1 floating holiday per year.
