Rate of Pay: $47,500.00 Annually
About This Opportunity
Plans, develops and manages grant resources within the Augusta Command. Coordinates and prepares proposals for all requests for the United Way, private foundations, and government/public funding appropriate to the Salvation Army. Seeks out new funding opportunities for the Army programs around the Command. This position also monitors the use of grant funds received and completes required reporting and reimbursement requests as needed. Assists in all additional development functions as directed.
Key Responsibilities
Constant amount of physical effort required associated with hand movement, holding, finger dexterity, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, vision, hearing, talking, and sitting at least 90% of the work time; rare to occasional amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching at least 30% of the work time. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there is little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work requires travel to conduct community and home visits.

Key Responsibilities
- Creates a comprehensive grants development plan in which the various needs of programs and command areas are prioritized.
- Research grant funding opportunities for Salvation Army programs to include evaluating financial status and philosophy of prospective funding organizations.
- Assists local Augusta Command units with research for funding grants, trends and other information pertinent to the work of The Salvation Army
- Knowledgeable in current relevant laws and guidelines to help aid in the grant proposal process through networking, studying and continuing education.
- Reviews government publications to identify funding available through government grants; Obtains and completes grant applications to acquire funds: Monitors the use of resulting funds to ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Research and fields foundation opportunities to identify available private funding; Obtains and completes applications, monitors use to ensure compliance.
- Assists officers and staff in the evaluation and pursuit of grant funding leads
- Develops specific program or Command wide proposals: Works with Administration, business and program personnel to prepare, write, and submit grant proposals and reports.
- Oversees the administration of grant funding awarded programs within the Augusta Command to include the KROC Center, Center of Hope programs and Family stores.
- Oversees and manages grant proposals and funding; maintains complete working records on all prospective funders, proposals, and grant income. Ensuring compliance with contract terms including timely reporting program evaluation and financial responsibility.
- Collaborates with Finance Department to create and ensure proper resource reimbursement process.
- Ensures all Grantors receive appropriate recognition and gratitude from The Salvation Army.
- Participates in continuing educations opportunities, conferences and seminars to enhance personal growth, and travel as needed to represent The Salvation Army.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience demonstrating a record of accomplishment in grant writing with a knowledge of city, state, federal structure and funding requirements.
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the requires knowledge, skills and abilities.
