Position Summary:
The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Donation Attendant to join our team. This role involves greeting donors, accepting and processing donations, and ensuring that items are sorted and displayed appropriately. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about supporting our mission and providing excellent service to our donors and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting Donors: Welcome donors with a friendly and courteous demeanor.
- Accepting Donations: Receive, unload, and sort donations, including clothing, furniture, household items, and other goods.
- Quality Control: Inspect donated items to ensure they meet our quality standards and safety guidelines.
- Organization: Maintain a clean and organized donation area, ensuring items are properly sorted and categorized.
- Assistance: Provide support to donors, including assistance with heavy items, and offer receipts for tax purposes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive donor experience.
- Customer Service: Address any questions or concerns from donors and customers with professionalism and care.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Reporting: Communicate any issues or concerns to the supervisor promptly.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is an asset.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move items up to 30 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require physical activity.
