About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for the Development Department and, in partnership with the Area Commander, provides overall coordination for volunteer recruitment and engagement, database management, and other communication as needed to meet fundraising goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Recruits and participates in the screening and selection of volunteer staff ensuring adequate staff is maintained to meet program needs.
- Creates and manages all components of online communications, electronic and social media outlets to generate community interest and awareness, including Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta platforms.
- Provides support for public relations and communications functions.
- Cultivate & implement donor stewardship strategies to enhance donor retention, conduct research on prospective donors, and maintain the development database while generating reports.
- Responsible for maintaining and coordinating calendars and schedules varied and complex meetings for the Area Commander.
What we are looking for in you:
- Four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, AND
- 2 plus years of relevant fundraising experience with demonstrated familiarity with donor prospecting, marketing, fundraising, strategic planning, and coordinating special events, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- CFRE preferred.
- Must be cleared by Local Law Enforcement, State of Florida Dept. of Children and Families, FBI background screens, and credit checks.
- Valid state Driver's License with approved driving record.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
