We invite you to join us this summer in our Summer Day Camp for school-age children in Akron! This position is a Full-time, seasonal position from mid-May through mid-August. Candidate will start early May for background check process, trainings, and time with students before camp starts.

The Salvation Army's Summer Program is a Gold-Rated, licensed Christian childcare program that provides a safe and nurturing space over the summer with the goal of enriching the lives of children, providing fun educational activities and preventing summer learning loss.
We offer a fun and supportive work environment to our staff and our students!
The hours for this position are 9:00am-6:00pm. No nights or weekends required!
How You'll Contribute
You'll be responsible for:
- Direct supervision of children
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of fun and educational activities
- Accompanying our students on weekly field trips providing guidance and supervision
- Providing a safe and nurturing environment while adhering to licensure regulations
- Transportation of children to/from field trips in a passenger bus (We will provide training prior to transporting any children)
- Creating fun, long lasting memories for children
- Qualifications You'll Need
- A minimum of an High School diploma
- Experience working with children
- Coursework or a degree in early childhood education, child development, related studies or a CDA a PLUS!
- An appreciation and support for a Christian-based learning environment
- A positive and cheerful attitude
- A desire to be a role model and influencer
- Drivers license cleared by our insurance to drive passenger bus (MUST be 21 or older)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
