What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grand Rapids Kroc Center-Worship Ministries Coordinator position at The Salvation Army USA Central Territory?
Position Summary: The Worship Ministries Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of all worship services at the Kroc Center, including the leading of worship. This position is a member of the Congregational Life team and serves under the direction of the Kroc Officer for Congregational Life.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support the lay and lead ministries of the Kroc Church with appropriate music for various services, activities, and events.
- Assume the lead organizational role during Kroc worship services; which includes coordinating and leading weekly worship team rehearsals.
- Help to obtain the most creative and effective worship resources for services.
- Secure and maintain appropriate supplies and resources (including reserving rooms) for all aspects of worship services (and rehearsals).
- Organize and lead special ensembles for public events as needed by the Kroc Center and approved by the Kroc Officer for Congregational Life.
- Instruct and/or participate in different Kroc classes as assigned by the Kroc Officer for Congregational life.
- Assist with promotion, implementation, and leadership of assigned events.
- Identify, recruit, train, and supervise individuals to participate in worship services.
- Actively recruit leadership for Kroc programs related to your area of
responsibility.
- Provide musical training for musicians and singers when necessary or assigned.
- Connect musicians to different Kroc Center programming by identifying spiritual gifts and providing networking opportunities
- Make certain that all A/V equipment and Kroc Church software as well as all musical instruments, mics, in-ear packs, iPads, projectors, screens, drums, keyboards, etc., are regularly checked and maintained being kept in good order.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in related field and two years of professional experience in a ministry setting or a minimum of three years experience supervising other staff and in leading worship services. Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be taken into consideration.
- Proficiency with at least one musical instrument that is used in a worship band (i.e. guitar or piano)
- Must have the capacity to develop programs, establish ministry outcomes and provide basic Christian counseling and guidance to staff, volunteers, and program participants.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- This position is a ministry position and requires the candidate to be a committed Christian and be in agreement with and supportive of The Salvation Army's mission, doctrines and practices.
- Working knowledge of A/V components such as: Midas digital sound board, Black Magic Box, Martin M2PC stage lighting, projectors, input and output routing, Cat5, snakes, routing cable connections etc.
- Be able to trouble shoot issues that may arise with software and hardware components related to Kroc Church and Kroc Church Sunday services.
Computer Skills:
- Efficiently use software platforms such as OBS, YouTube, Planning Center, Pro Presenter, Mac IOS, Excel. Microsoft Word to create a meaningful Worship experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
