The Part-Time Intake Worker will provide supervision and intake of clients, maintaining security, and providing supportive services.
The position will cover overnight and weekend shifts.
About the role:
- Conducts intake interviews for new shelter residents.
- Monitors room assignments and distributes basic necessities.
- Provides necessary supervision of shelter and residents, assuring that rules and policies are being followed.
- Assist with client need, refer to case manager as appropriate.
- Provide de-escalation and crisis response.
- Answers telephone calls, taking messages when appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness of shelter common areas.
- Assist with food service preparations and serving.
- Ensures shift is documented according to procedures.
- Performs room inspections.
- Supervises volunteers, when assigned
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Certifications: N/A
Experience: Experience working with the homeless population desirable
