- Establish and maintain accounts in accordance with set protocols, monitoring account activity and budget compliance.
- Review and process check requests, determining appropriate payment formats and ensuring all documentation is accurate.
- Verify funding before submitting check requests for approval, ensuring the integrity of financial transactions.
- Conduct thorough research and reconciliation of accounts, addressing inquiries from internal divisions and external vendors.
- Manage the timely processing of check requests to facilitate prompt payments.
- Communicate effectively with local units and external contacts regarding account statuses and payment processes.
- Perform data entry tasks to maintain financial databases and generate reports while ensuring data accuracy.
- Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Execute additional related duties as necessary, supporting the broader goals of the department.
