Key Responsibilities
- Operate the Salvation Army truck on scheduled routes for the collection and delivery of donations.
- Collaborate with the Donations Scheduler to confirm pick-up schedules and locations.
- Plan routes efficiently to minimize time and fuel consumption.
- Assist the Truck Helper in loading and unloading donations, ensuring accurate documentation and customer service.
- Maintain strong relationships with donors to promote a positive image of The Salvation Army.
- Ensure truck maintenance and compliance with safety regulations at all times.
- Log mileage and report any delays promptly.
- Familiarity with the local geographical area.
- Understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Strong organizational skills for managing pick-up schedules and routes.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining driving qualifications and safety standards.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- A minimum of one year experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van, or a comparable combination of training and experience.
- Valid State Driver’s License with CDL endorsement, if required.
