The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for a Bookkeeper/HR Assistant in Lawton, OK.Job Summary Performs specialized clerical and bookkeeping tasks in therecording and maintenance of precise fiscal records and financial data; appliesfundamental bookkeeping knowledge and skills to varied bookkeeping tasks suchas administering the day-to-day operations the Great Plains Accounting Programby using functionalized double-entry accounting package, checking entries,issuing checks, balancing accounts, and preparing financial reports; preparesand maintains financial records in an accurate, complete, and timely mannerwhile ensuring the integrity, security and accountability of The Salvation Armyfinancial accounts. Handles day to day Human Resources operations for thecommand and interfaces with DHQ on all matters necessary for escalation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of basic double-entry bookkeeping principles andpractices and of applications to accounting transactions.Knowledge of modern data entry methods as they pertain tobookkeeping functions.Knowledge of modern of modern office methods, procedures,and practices.Knowledge of financial accounting systems and procedures.Ability to prepare routine and special financial reports andrecords.Ability to obtain numerical totals and balances and toverify information from complex forms and transform to computers or manualreports.Ability to accept fiscal responsibility of assignedfunctionalized accounts.Knowledge of the Southern Territory "Workers Together" manual.Education and Experience Two year college or technical school degree in accounting,bookkeeping, business or related field, and two year’s experience in theperformance of bookkeeping and related work with some exposure to data entrymethods, any equivalent combination of training and experience which providesthe required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Must have a valid driver's license
