Camp Challenge Course Assistant - Camp Hidden Lake

Location:  Camp Hidden Lake, Lexington, Mississippi Position Type:  Temporary Full-Time Pay Rate: $325.00 per week   About this opportunity Assists in the operation of challenge course activities for the Salvation Army camps.   Key Responsibilities: Ensures challenge course activities are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Assists and participates with camp programs and activities as directed by the Camp Challenge Course Specialist.  What we are looking for in you: One year experience leading sports, recreation or challenge course activities preferred. Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  . Licenses and Certifications Certification or documented training from a recognized organization or certifying body for the types of activities offered. CPR and First Aid Certification   Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Some physical requirements of the Camp Challenge Course Assistant position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate challenge course equipment and activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.   Additional Information   Camp Staff Orientation will be held 06/09/2025 – 06/13/2025 and full participation is required.   The 2025 Summer Camp program will be held 06/16/2025 – 07/19/2025.    The anticipation is for every staff member to work the entire summer and is the only way to receive a bonus.
