JOB TITLE: DONOR SERVICES CULTIVATION DATA MANAGER
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a full-time, exempt Donor Services Cultivation Data Manager at the Orlando Area Command in Orlando, Florida. The pay range is $51,113 – $57,510 a year.
About This Opportunity: Under the direction of the Director of Development, creates and implements short-and-long term strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual mid-level donors. Oversees (mid-level donors) and assists with (major donors) a variety of donor activities and communications to maximize the organization's resources effectively and efficiently while providing appropriate avenues for engaging and recruiting new donors; creates strategies to increase identified and potential donor support. Prepares analysis of fundraising activities and donor giving patterns/purpose for development of cultivation and solicitation strategies. Ensures that all aspects of the donor database management system are used to maximize donor cultivation. Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance and grow community engagement and investment by area corporations and churches within The Salvation Army programs. Through community engagement strategies identify and engage groups in volunteer services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission and philosophy, Knowledge of Christian theology, and The Salvation Army Doctrine. Knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations and media relations, Knowledge of acceptable fundraising methods and strategies. Knowledge of prudent fiscal practices. Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Excel or a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Outlook. Ability to write creatively. Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations. Ability to prepare effective printed materials for educational and promotional purposes. Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army. Ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate fundraising events including direct mail campaigns. Ability to administer a budget and monitor expenditures for compliance with the same. Ability to prepare and maintains reports in an accurate and complete manner. Ability to research funding sources.
What we are looking for in you: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing or a related field AND 2 years' experience performing fundraising and marketing, preferably in the non-profit industry OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications: Approved background check required. Valid State Driver’s License required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to manage multiple, concurrent activities. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines. Ability to work with limited supervision, Ability to perform mathematical computations. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to speak before large groups in person, by radio and television. Ability to travel to various locations in order to participate in public meetings, conferences, etc. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief periods or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
