Housing Monitor - Weekends Only

Location: Louisville, KY   Position Type: Housing Monitor/Safety Officer – Weekends Only About this opportunity: Monitors the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army emergency housing program; guards the safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with shelter rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients. Key responsibilities: Monitors the behavior and activities of clients. Ensures compliance with shelter rules and policies. Provides safety for guests, staff, and building. What we are looking for in you: High School Diploma or G.E.D. (preferred but not required) and Six months experience working with the public with experience working in a security or social service environment preferred,   OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.     Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment.  Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.  Work is usually performed in a housing shelter environment where there are some physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
