The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, is seeking 4 Kitchen Assistants FT & PT for our Center of Hope Shelter, located in Downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Job Summary:
Assists in the preparation and serving of meals; cleans kitchen equipment and washes dishes; sweeps, mops, and waxes floors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of cleaning practices, methods, and techniques.
Ability to assist in the preparation and presentation of meals.
Ability to wash dishes and kitchen appliances.
Ability to clean kitchen and dining area.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Education and Experience:
HS diploma or GED AND 1 year experience working in kitchen preferred, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications:
Food Handlers Permit OR Able to obtain one.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.)
Working Conditions:
Works is performed in a normal kitchen environment where there may be limited physical discomforts associated with working around hot stoves/ovens or cold freezers.
