Location: The Salvation Army St Petersburg Citadel Corps, St Petersburg, FL
About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for providing care for infants and toddlers in a nursery, changing babies' diapers and clothes to ensure personal hygiene and safety, feeding and cleaning babies, as well as comforting and playing with babies.
Key responsibilities:
Always monitors all baby’s behavior and activities in a constant manner ensuring their health and safety.
Teaches babies basic learning skills.
Reads stories and sings to babies.
Ensures the nursery is always maintained in a safe and clean manner.
What we are looking for in you:
High School Diploma or GED required, AND
Six months of experience caring for babies in a nursery environment, OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Manual dexterity. Ability to sit, walk, and stand on a frequent change basis in order to perform the duties of this position. Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
Ability to lift, hold, and carry infants and toddlers on a continuous basis weighing up to 25 lbs. Must be self-directed with ability to tolerate frequent interruptions.
Work is performed in a normal childcare environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
