Position: CustodianLocation: Hagerstown Corps – Hagerstown, Maryland
Position Type: Regular – Part-time; non-exempt (25 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
About this opportunity:
Maintains a clean working environment for all staff and visitors at the Salvation Army building and grounds, promoting health and safety. Duties include picking up and taking out trash, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning, and stocking bathrooms, making sure buildings are secure, cleaning windows and mirrors, and performing minor building repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies.
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, strips, buffs, and waxes floors.
Cleans windows, dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.
Empties trash cans daily, collects trash from grounds, and sweeps outside walkways.
Maintains boiler room, laundry room, maintenance closets; and ensures all storage areas are orderly and clean.
Assists in performing building maintenance, painting, and repair work.
What we are looking for in you:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education and Experience
High School Diploma, or GED AND one (1) year experience performing general housekeeping duties; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid State Driver’s License, preferred.
