The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a part time Resident Monitor/Security Guard for the Coastal Alabama Area Command, located in Mobile, Alabama.
About this opportunity:
Oversees, accepts, and processes residents staying in shelter overnight. Monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security, and compliance to house rules. Maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information. Guards the security and the safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with housing rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:
Knowledge of security practices and procedures
Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly & calmly while maintaining control & initiating proper corrective action
Knowledge of general office procedures and practices
Ability to work with the public encompassing all types of behaviors.
What we are looking for in you:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. and
One year experience working with the public performing security or social service work preferred or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience
Valid State Driver’s License preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work requires performance of duties in social services environments where exposure to communicable & infectious diseases are possible. Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking on a frequent change basis
