About this opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Social Services Program Manager I, the Residential Program Manager I is responsible for the total management of the transitional housing program, a facility for homeless families and individuals. The incumbent is responsible for program development, program management, and supervision of program interns, volunteers, and program participants. He/she will report needed repairs of the transitional housing facility to ensure a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment. The position will work in alignment with the philosophy, policies, procedures of the program and The Salvation Army and the Social Services Code of Ethics.
Key responsibilities:
Designs, implements and manages the Residential Housing Program vision which is to provide a supportive living environment for families/individuals as they transition from homelessness to stabilization.
Develops, coordinates, implements, evaluates, and revises (as necessary) the program’s services based on the needs of the residents; assesses the program’s strengths and weaknesses and to specify program goals, ensuring goals remain in alignment with best practices in homeless services, program policy, and Salvation Army agency policy.
Develops and implements policies and procedures in accordance with applicable state and federal grants and/or contracts and TSA Social Service policy and procedures.
Maintains knowledge of best practices related to services for the homeless and recommends/implements improvements to the program that demonstrates successful outcomes and program effectiveness.
Collaborates with local organizations to provide individualized life-skills, training, housing, meals and other forms of holistic short-term assistance. As warranted establishes and coordinates services from the providers to the Housing Program by securing Memorandum of Understanding “MOU”.
Develops and implements all necessary forms (referral, follow up, goal achievement) to include release of information forms.
What we are looking for in you:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services, or related field; And two to three years of social services experience with at least one year in a supervisory capacity, Or master’s degree in social work or related field and one year of social services experience. LPC highly desirable.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Duties are performed seated or intermittently sitting, standing or stooping
Occasional lifting of light objects (less than 25 lbs.) and occasional lifting of objects 25 to 50 pounds may be necessary.
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like
