JOB SUMMARY
A building is just a facility, inert &inanimate; but conduct a varied and strong program within it and it becomesdynamic, live and vibrant place of activity and feeling. The direct responsibility of the ProgramStaff is to initiate, plan and coordinate so this happens. Ideally, there should be some constructiveactivity or interest to attract and hold every boy and girl.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
1. Plan and formulate theoverall club program objectives geared and scheduled to include the interestand needs of all age groups.
2. Direct and supervise thework of volunteers.
3. Coordinate all programactivities within the organization.
4. Promote and stimulateinterest in activities, by encouraging participation and posting flyers,bulletins, and etc.
5. Recruit and provideorientation of new members.
6. Assist with the Club’sEducational and After School Programs which may include daily school bus pickupand take home from local School/Club or periodic group trips.
7. Attend and makerecommendations for staff meetings.
8. Recommend needed supplies inaccordance with organizational policy.
9. Counsel with individual boyand girl members, and/or parents, as needed and keep all pertaining records.
10. Assist with developingprogram schedules, newsletters, special interest notices & flyers; inaccordance with Organizational policy.
11. Assume other duties as maybe assigned in accordance with the Staff Manual or by local City Command.

12. Serve as lifeguard for Clubmembers when the pool is in use.
13. Be responsible for cleaninglocker rooms when the pool is open.
MATERIALSAND EQUIPMENT
The employee must be able to:
1. Operate all games andrecreational equipment; to include minor repairs and adjustments. Should be able to communicate repairs totechnicians to get equipment repaired.
2. Move equipment as neededusing a hand truck and wearing appropriate protective equipment including aback brace.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The employee must be physically fit as some movingand lifting of equipment will be required. A high school diploma is a minimum requirement with a college degree inbusiness or any of the arts preferred. Qualified experience may be substituted for college degree. Ability toplan, initiate and interpret activities, programs, and services based on thedevelopmental needs of young people is a must. In addition, fundamental computer skills in word processing,spreadsheet, and database are required.
Lifeguards must have Red Cross Certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Most work conditions will be in an office ormultipurpose, air conditioned building. Some activities will require outside supervision and coordination.
