About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for writing and developing high-quality content for The Salvation Army Southern Territory's social media platforms and digital signage. Works to ensure a consistent brand identity and effective communication of the organization's mission and activities. Serves as a vital technical and creative resource and partner in communicating The Salvation Army's mission and impact to diverse audiences.
Key responsibilities:
Designs and creates visually engaging graphics, photos, and videos optimized for various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.) and digital signage.
Collaborates with leaders and stakeholders to plan and produce content that aligns with the overall social media strategy and ensures timely and effective event coverage.
Creates templates and style guides when necessary to ensure consistency across all visual content.
Attends assigned events to capture and create visual content for social media
What we are looking for in you:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in graphic design, media communications, or a related field, AND
Three years of professional experience in graphic design, media communications, or a related field with proven experience in creating visual content for social media and/or digital signage and a strong portfolio showcasing relevant design and content creation skills. Experience in video editing and production and familiarity with social media analytics tools are preferred. OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses & Certifications
Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements
Ability to demonstrate dependability through attendance and punctuality.
Ability to travel as needed.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
A limited amount of physical effort is required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.).
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
