Pay Range: $13.00/hour
About this opportunity:
The Sorting Room Worker receives, sorts, prices, and prepares donated items for display, ensuring items meet suitability and pricing standards, while maintaining warehouse cleanliness and order.
Key responsibilities:
Receives, inspects and sorts donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, bric-a-brac, etc. according to the category and condition
Selects items suitable for store display and distributes same to appropriate area for further sorting and/or pricing, discards items in accordance with established procedures.
Tags items with specially coded tickets and/or price in accordance with established procedures.
Hangs clothes on hangers and places same on clothes racks
Lifts and carries items to the appropriate destination for further processing, storage or displaying in store
Maintains warehouse area in a neat and orderly manner; cleans floors, tables and work areas
What we are looking for in you:
No formal education or experience required.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to meet attendance requirements, communicate in English, and physically lift, carry, and/or push/pull moderately heavy objects (25-50 lbs.). Duties involve moderate mobility, including sitting, standing, and walking, usually within the same building. Work is performed in a warehouse environment, where physical discomforts may arise from changes in weather, as well as exposure to noise, dust, dirt, and similar conditions.
