The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job openings for a Summer Day Camp Counselors for the Charlotte Area Command, Boys & Girls Club in Mecklenburg and Union County (Charlotte, NC) Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the Unit Director, consistent with the Christian mission of The Salvation Army and the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The incumbent shall be responsible for creating a safe and enjoyable environment for a given group of children in the Day Camp Program. The incumbent shall also be responsible for presenting a positive image of The Salvation Army and its programs to the community and other agencies within the area at all times. Knowledge and Skills Have the ability to write and speak the English language. Keyboarding and typing skills ability. Ability to work well with children Have good telephone communication ability. Ability to organize work priorities. Ability to meet job attendance requirements as designated. Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army. Must be capable of understanding and interpreting the mission of The Salvation Army and its shelter programs. Ability to communicate effectively with other people. Education and Experience Must possess a High School Diploma or GED certificate with one year’s experience working with youth. Licenses and Certifications Valid State Driver's License (Must meet MVR requirements) Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Position requires indoor Salvation Army club facilities, indoor andoutdoor recreation room/fields, camp, or other community facilities.
