The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for a Warehouse Worker for the Lafayette Thrift Store, located in Lafayette, Louisiana. Job Summary: Receives, sorts, prices and prepares items for display in the store; determines suitability and pricing of items based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area; prepares receipts for donations. The position is part-time. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of effective customer service techniques. Ability to sort items in accordance with established categories; ability to determine the condition of items in accordance with established standards. Education and Experience: No formal education or experience required. Knowledge of retail business helpful. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting. Ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light objects.
