BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to assist the Teacher in the supervision of children ages 18 months to 5 years old and to assist in the overall daily run of the classroom at Booth Memorial Childcare Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for assisting in creating a warm, orderly and clean environment to promote the development of children.
- Assist in supervision of children, paying special attention to health and safety of each child.
- Maintaining State Licensing Teacher child ratios of 1:4 or 1:8, daily
- Responsible for assisting in the care and upkeep of equipment and supplies.
- Assists in set-up and clean-up duties as required.
- Willingness to take directions from the Teacher
- Assist Teacher in completing all required State Licensing paperwork such as observations, assessments, DRDP, or other required paperwork.
- Other Related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Education Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years od age and a high school graduate.
- Early Childhood Educations units 6-9 required
- Some experience with young children required
- Child Care Center experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
- Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
- Ability to reach overhead
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
