Position Summary
Membership Advisors are responsible for achieving or exceeding individual sales goals, renewals and ancillary service goals by pre-planning the month with strategic outreach, in-club lead generation and securing member referrals. Under the management of a Director and Corps Officer, lead in creating awareness and provide exposure to the program. Generate ideas, strategic planning, events to better grow the program. Understanding the Salvation Army Policy and working under its guidelines.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for achieving or exceeding individual sales goals, renewals, memberships, programs, classes and service goals by pre-planning the month with strategic outreach, in-center lead generation and securing member referrals.
- Assist the Membership Manager with the daily operation which includes, checking in of members, answering phones, greeting guest, providing sales and clerical assistance.
- Handle all membership procedures as follows:
- Process membership intakes, class registrations and sports leagues.
- Prepare daily deposits and rental processing and payments
- Keep accurate reports and maintain membership scholarship funds.
- Visit local schools on a bi-annual basis to distribute Red Shield information flyers and attend community resources fairs.
- Maintain and keep accurate statistics of all members regarding age, sex, ethnicity, and zip codes as needed for annual fund raising grants and reports
- Maintains constant surveillance of members/guests in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of members and guests in the event of emergency.
- Perform any duties as needed to maintain the safety and the ongoing flow of the youth center
- Must understand the philosophy, Program Standards, Protecting the Mission Child Safety policies of The Salvation Army
Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have an up-to-date CPR for the Professional.
- Previous sales experience preferred with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Minimum of two years' experience in clerical and sales
- Class C Drivers license

- If working in the vicinity of children a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
