Camper Consultant

Job Summary
Camp Allegheny is hiring Camper Consultants for the 2025 camp season. The Camper Consultants coordinate with the Director and Assistant Director of Camp to apprise camper referrals, interventions and strategies to facilitate positive behavioral changes and ensure the overall safety of staff and campers.

Duties:

• Be a resource by developing intervention strategies for Lead Counselors, Assistant Lead Counselors, Counselors, and staff who need guidance and direction in handling negative camper behavior
• Serve as a member of the camp leadership staff, attending meetings as scheduled by the Camp Directors.
• Accept guidance and supervision from and work closely with the Assistant Camp Director
• Provide spiritual and professional guidance to Lead Counselors, Counselors, and staff members under his/her supervision.
• Serve as a behavioral resource person for the village leaders, counselors, and staff members.
• Serve as a role model to campers and other staff members by complying with all camp personnel policies and by modeling a lifestyle according to Biblical imperatives for Godly living
• Develop positive discipline strategies including individual behavior modification plans, group behavior modification plans, individual camper behavior contracts, and group behavior contracts to redirect camper behavior to an acceptable alternative.
• Complete, submit and, record all reports as necessary related to CYS and KeepSafe.
• Act as a liaison between camper and village staff as needed.
• Be a main point of contact for parents/guardians

Qualifications:

• Understanding of the goals and objectives of Camp Allegheny and its program.
• Minimum of 2 years of camp supervisory experience.
• Minimum of 21 years of age with a bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred.
