Summary
The Salvation Army's Washington Corps is seeking a Program Aide/Office Steward to help with daily operations at the corps. As a Program Aide at The Salvation Army, you will play a vital role in supporting our community programs as well as assist in the overall general maintenance and upkeep of the Washington Corps building.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for encouraging and aiding in the spiritual growth of youth and young adults for The Salvation Army.
- To assist with Youth programs as a chaperone/leader as needed.
- To assist with setup and preparation for corps programming
- Make certain that all Salvation Army owned/rented property and equipment is maintained and kept in good order seeing that areas are kept neat, clear of clutter and clean
- Daily cleaning of main traffic hallways, staircases and bathrooms
- Maintain stock of sanitary paper supplies to bathrooms and kitchen areas
- Routine vacuum of carpeted floor areas as needed
- Clean windows
- Shovel snow/Salt from main entrance areas to the building if needed
- Empty trash/garbage and dispose of cardboard to bins outside the building
- Assist with deliveries and donation loading/unloading
- Set up and tear down of tables and chairs as needed
- To help set up and clean areas used for programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have work dependability, as well as work quality and quantity.
- Must be able to work with cleaning agents.
- Must be able to routinely lift up to 30 lbs.
- This position requires full range of movement and mobility in the performance of duties.
- All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Request for Criminal Record, and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
- PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Army's KeepSAfe training required.
