What are the responsibilities and job description for the Thrift Store Clerk position at The Salvation Army Western PA Division?
The Salvation Army's Sharon Corps is seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Thrift Store Clerk to join our team. As a Thrift Store Clerk, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the store.
Candidates must be able to work Saturdays and lift up to 50lbs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the cleanliness and clutter free look of the Family Store
- Accepting and processing donations – receipts, sorting, hanging and tagging
- Assist in checking out customers
- Opening and closing store
- Daily reconciliation of the cash register
- Accurate record keeping
- Any other duties assigned by Corps Officer
Additional Responsibilities:
- Employees of The Salvation Army are representatives to community and must conduct themselves in a professional manner while on duty.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Cash register experience a plus
- Good math skills
- Continued knowledge of Salvation Army Thrift Store Manual
- Good Customer relations
- All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Request for Criminal Record, and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
- PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Army's KeepSAfe training required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Previous retail experience desired
