Plans, coordinates, and leads all recreational sports (softball, baseball, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, etc.) at camp.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Some physical requirements of the Camp Recreation Specialist position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate recreational equipment and activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.
Additional Information
Camp Staff Orientation will be held 06/09/2025-06/13/2025 and full participation is required.
The 2025 Summer Camp program session will be held 06/16/2025-07/19/2025. The anticipation is for every staff member to work the entire summer and is the only way to receive a bonus. If you are unable to work the entire session, please let us know on your application.

Key Responsibilities:
- Trains other camp staff to lead, chaperone and monitor recreation activities. Ensure safety of campers and staff while participating in field, or other sporting activities and ensures a positive experience for campers.
- Plans, coordinates, supervises and evaluates the day-to-day operations of the canteen and assists in the office under the office manager; maintains stock of drinks and snacks.
- Conducts inventory of all clothing, food, and beverages.
- Responsible for cash received at the canteen.
- Supervises other staff member assigned to work the canteen.
- Two years’ experience leading sports or recreation activities preferred.
- Two years’ experience working with children in a camp environment preferred
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
