Responsible for financial record keeping for all expenditures and assisting the Corps Officer (s) with budgets and reports.
Qualifications
- Review all corps invoices to be paid, verify the total and amount to be paid.
- Contact vendors for past due invoice copies and/or payment concerns and issues
- Prepare, assign accounting codes, and enter invoices for corps into the current accounting system
- Process all accounts payable, assuring that all expenses are met in a timely manner
- Print checks and verify against the invoice for accuracy (vendor, address, amount, etc)
- Prepare checks for mailing to vendors and file vouchers
- Ensure all entries are made in advance of monthly and fiscal year closing deadlines
- Maintain an organized filing system for each corps
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position to maintain the smooth operation of the department
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Self-motivated, detail oriented and driven
- Must have good written and oral communication and organizational skills
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or occasional continuous basis.
- Grasp, push, pull objects such as reference materials, files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.
- Ability to load and to change settings, devices, fixtures, on various equipment used in and around an office environment
- Operate telephone and other electronic communication devices.
- Operate various other office equipment including personal computers, copiers, fax machines, and scanning equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to travel throughout the Division via car, train, or airplane.
- Ability to be creative, original, intuitive, and perceptive.
- Ability to think logically and critically.
- Ability to envision a project from beginning to end.
- Ability to solve complex problems, make appropriate judgments and decisions
