Job Title: Driver & Food Pantry Worker
Location: Buckhannon & Elkins SU of Clarksburg Corps - Clarksburg, WV
Position Type: Temporary part-time (20 hours/week), non-exempt
Pay Rate: $10.18/hr.
About this opportunity:
Provides assistance in Food Pantry services. This involves driving a Salvation Army owned vehicle to pick up daily food donations, receiving misc. pantry donations, weighing, organizing, and distributing supplies of food and other items as scheduled. Completes client assessment for pantry services & preliminary assessment of other social service needs & presents case to Social Services Program Coordinator.
Qualified candidates will:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required; relevant experience preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid State Driver’s License, required.
Will be required to obtain WV Food Handlers Certificate
WORKING CONDITION
Work is performed in a normal office environment. On occasion, work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures in while driving or traveling to and from vehicle and buildings.

- Prepares and maintains client records in a timely manner ensuring all information is accurate and up to date; obtains signatures of clients as needed; reviews and tracks all client records in order to determine if client is active or inactive; maintains confidentiality of client information.
- Completes client assessment for services; serves eligible clients by food pantry guidelines; prepares preliminary assessment of other social service needs for Social Services Program Coordinator.
- Stores, refrigerates, and freezes foods in a safe and economical manner; monitors expiration dates on all foods ensuring proper disposal of foods with expired dates.
- Receives, weighs, stores. organizes, and distributes food and commodities for the Food Pantry program.
- Pick-up donated items from stores on scheduled days.
