About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Social Services Program; supervises all program staff and ensures work is in compliance with established policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations; prepares and monitors expenditures in compliance with department budget.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervises and monitors the day-to-day activities of the program; ensures that operations run smoothly and in compliance with established procedures.
- Supervises staff responsible for providing services; instructs and trains employees in the proper methods and procedures for conducting work; monitors work in process and upon completion for compliance with established program policies and procedures; conducts performance evaluations and makes salary and hiring/firing recommendations.
- Maintains awareness of local, state and federal regulations governing program operations and ensures compliance to the same including health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Reviews case assessments for each client including a personalized action plan; reviews case files to ensure proper documentation of all case activities. Audits case management files to ensure compliance standards.
- Assumes direct practice caseload. Client centered responsibilities include assessment, the creation of a service plan, referrals, and linking the client to other needed resources; meets with clients on a regularly scheduled basis for service planning, progress monitoring, and timely interventions.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services, or a related social services field, AND
- Two years progressively responsible experience performing social services work with at least one year in a supervisory capacity, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid State Driver’s License and ability to meet Salvation Army driving standards.
- Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
- Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
- Works is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
