Case Assistant
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Case Assistant develops a supportive relationship with individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness by addressing needs and de-escalating crisis situations with the overall objective of achieving solutions that promote stability and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High School Diploma and/or Associates Degree
- Demonstrate proficiency of Microsoft programs, QuickBooks or similar computer programs
- Current 1st Aid and CPR certification or within 1 month of hire
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and professional demeanor
- Ability to work 37.5 hours per week, during M-F 2:00pm-9:30pm
- Provide On Call services 9:30p.m. – 8:30 a.m. and weekends/holidays (alternating with the Executive Director and other staff)
Preferred:
- Previous case management experience
- Previous experience in crisis management and networking with collateral agencies
OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Complete pre-employment and random drug testing as requested.

- Must be dependable, organized, possess good oral and written communication skills, have great attention for detail and works well under pressure
- Must be able to work efficiently and independently
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide positive intervention, stabilization, de-escalation, and conflict management using a trauma-informed and family centered approach.
- Provide life coaching to residents as needed (job search training, parenting assistance, budgeting etc.).
- Responsible for the timely completion of comprehensive case notes regarding intervention and life coaching services provided.
- Responsible for providing all services in a dignified and confidential manner.
- Responsible for providing resident services within professional boundaries and ethical working relationships.
- Assist new residents in becoming familiar with facilities, routines, responsibilities and house rules.
- Conduct a walk-through of the shelter and shelter grounds at the end of shift to assure residents have checked in by curfew and /or are accounted for, facility is secure, assure there are no wasted utilities, damage to building and shelter is clean.
- Assist with cleaning the rooms, furniture and bedding as residents exit the program.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
- Work collaboratively with community organizations.
- Positively promote Samaritan Well programming in the community.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
The Case Assistant reports to the Executive Director.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 – 40 per week
