Floor Manager

Position Summary:

Luxury handbag design development facility seeks a Full-Time Floor Manager to oversee and manage all development operations of making handbag and small leather good prototypes and samples. Position is responsible for ensuring staff are adhering to company quality standards and methods on all product, meeting given deadlines on projects and communicating any quality issues or delays to the Project Manager in a timely manner. Great opportunity to create products for a well-known brand, with many items getting placed in Runway, magazine editorials and production for retail.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee all projects for quality and company standards
• Troubleshoot engineering challenges with pattern maker
• Create handbag and leather goods prototypes and samples
• Create handbag and leather goods patterns
• Ability to read and understand a design card / technical drawing
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while delegating work to team members to keep projects moving smoothly and maintain quality standards
• Ability to work with your hands and alongside craftsman
• Work closely with Project Manager, Production Director and other Pattern Makers to align on aesthetic and company quality standards
• Training of new floor employees in company standards
• Must be able to meet deadlines
  
  
  

Requirements

• Must have thorough understanding and experience in sample making process
• Must have knowledge of handbag and leather goods constructions
• Must have two to four years management experience in a sample room
• Must be able to work professionally under pressure
