What are the responsibilities and job description for the Glazier position at The School District of Lee County?
We are hiring a Glazier who will install glass, Lexan, and Plexiglas in a cost-effective and safe manner that supports the goals of the District.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of experience installing glass, Lexan, and Plexiglas.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Florida commercial driver’s license (CDL): Class B; Air brakes endorsement.
Essential Job Functions:
- Install and design glass, Lexan, and Plexiglas in windows, doors, and desk tops.
- Make interior and exterior lenses for light fixtures.
- Replace fire box doors.
- Secure windows and doors which have been damaged or vandalized.
- Install expanded wire on windows.
- Contact vendors for job costs/materials and obtain bids.
- Lay out work, estimate costs, and requisition materials for work orders.
- Utilize basic District applications for communication, training, and record keeping.
- Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
- Register with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
